Have you thought about having a friend come stay at your house and house sit?
I have a guy in my office who is in his early 20's and he stays with his girlfriend at our house and house sits and watches the dogs.
I don't pay him because he is delighted to have a vacation from his roommates and access to our freezer
. He is in college and works two jobs. I always bring him a Thank you gift back. And make sure the fridge and cupboards are stocked with good food that he can't afford right now.
I also have a friend whose daughter does that for a living while going to school. Or hire a bonded petsitter to come watch the dogs.
