I do one of two things. I use a grooming band fit loosely then use a barette kind of under and behind to secure the whole thing. Or, I just use a baby terry cloth scrunchie band, wrap it around a couple of times and on the third wrap pull through the top knot. Gracie tolerates the scrunchie the best.
