One of mine lost his manhood last week, but not Luca Dean --- yet. I was given Deramaxx, a common painkiller. It makes my lab mix sleepy when she takes it. (She recently had stones in urine). Now, the crazy-hyper terrier mix I have ran up and down the hallways chasing shadows the same night he came home from being neutered. (He normally does this; it's how he gets rid of extra energy). We were kind of shocked. So, we didn't think he needed the pain meds, Deramaxx or otherwise. My sister-in-law gives her dog tylenol -- one xtra strength for 55lbs. I would talk to vet about tylenol or some children's meds. Deramaxx will probably knock a yorkie out. He'll probably be up and running the second day. Just watch to make sure he doesn't chew on the stitches -- licking is ok, but chewing is not. |
