Most important, you can NOT let him get away with this. Like the other ladies said, he needs to learn that YOU are the boss, and he needs to submit to you. You need to comminucate to him that biting is not acceptable, and you will NOT tollerate it. Rolling over on their back is (in dog language) submitting, so if you try to hold him down on his back, he is going to fight you. But - holding him on his back may get through to him that you are the alpha, and he is to submit to you! I hope that makes sense.
You may also try telling him "NO BITE" with a stern voice, and afterwards picking him up and petting him gently, giving him treats and praising him for not biting.
He may be afraid of being picked up(heights). This doesn't seem like the case, but you may try picking him up and petting him while giving him some treats, praising him. He will soon learn that everything's okay when you hold him. I am no expert, but these are some of the things I have read. Good luck with your baby! |
