hi i had that happen to a little young 4 mo old girl i bought once, all she did was jump out of my lap onto a slippery carpet protector, and yes, i had to get microsurgery on her costed 1700.00 at the specialty clinic for orthpedics on dogs, and she had to have 2 surgerys, on it had pins and nuts and bilts in the front elbow, it was horrible, well she got over that, then when she was 10 mo old went lame on her back leg, after taking her to my vet several times , i ended up with a surgery on her back hip socket as she had leggs perthes calves, a seroius condition that the breeder did not disclose to me or know about, she was then taken by me to the same specialist, and they did a femoral bone ostopy, where they completely remove the hip socket from the leg, and leave it that way,, this waS ABOUT 2200.00 MORE DOLARS SPENT ON HER BY ME, AS SHE DID RECOVER, SHE WAS THEN SPAYED SO NO BREEDING WOULD COME FROM HER,,, so eventually i gave her to my vet assistant, i informed that breeder of this and she replaced my dog, but not the 5000.00 spent on her, i was glad to do it as most breeders do not do this for a dog and would have put her to sleep, over the years ive bought 4 dogs all over the usa from different breeders with this leggs perthes calves desease, so i always xray all my dogs, pups and any adult before breeding, you can see this on a regular exray, as a precaution, most breeders, even show breeders that i had gotten some from, did not or do not do this before breeding, i always will, as this is heriditary and should be caught before breeding the adults, well the reason i was mentioning it is maybe this pup with the broken front leg should be checked for this also, it starts out in a pup after 4 to 9 mo old, its not apparent in young pups under 4 mo old tho, thats why many breeders miss it, ive never had this out of mine tho due to prescreening, as for the pup i hope someone out there with alot of money and a good heart will help you! God bless, ps i will not reveal the dogs or breeders these came from, i dont do that, just be carefull and prescreen any adults before you breed and every time you do again, if any are found with this, its your responsibility as a breeder to fix that dog and then spay and neuter, bye pam
