I empathize with your heartsickness as my new little Harry was not in too good of shape when I snatched him out of a kill shelter. As for his wandering, I would bet he's just happy to be safe - NOT looking for the owners who let him get this way. Please be patient and very careful when trying to place him. He deserves so much more than what he's had to endure. I'd take him in a New York minute if I were closer. I just love the older ones; spoiling them rotten their last few days/months/years here with us. God bless you for taking him in.
