Bless your heart. You are wonderful for helping this little guy like you did. I agree please don't take him to a pound or shelter. He would be one of the older ones that unfortunately usually don't ever leave probably.
maybe he has just been lost for so long that is why he was in the condition he was in? I am hoping that was the reason for it. Hopefully there is a loving family out there who lost him a while ago and will find him through you and reunite a happy family. Trying to look on the brighter side here for his sake.
