Gizmo has been doing this lately as well, and I found that the can with (marbles in my case) is working so far. I do it a little differently...I keep the can with me and I shake it when he starts and don't stop until he stops and do it consistently EVERY time. (That can be the hard part) He does stop after a couple of minutes and it seems that he settles more quickly each time.
