I walk TJ and Roxy around our block. But I constantly have to be on the look out for big dogs, either just let out by their owners, being walked carelessly by their owners, or just random loose big dogs roaming the block.
Me and Hubby are taking precautions for when I walk them alone.
#1 Always carry the Mace/Pepper Spray
#2 Always carry my cell phone
#3 Always wear shoes that I can run in
#4 Use a short lead
(never use the expandable flexi type - I might need to grab them quick)
#5 Keep looking behind me, all around me and down the road
#6 Be ready to pick them up and run to the closest house
