You and your babies were so very lucky! That could have been a real
tragedy. Please report it to the local police. Why should you have to stay
in your yard. Everyone has the right to feel safe walking down a public
street. There may be other charges against the owner from others.
Sounds like he was too eager to pay the vet bill. Report it and perhaps
save someone else's pet.
