I would open my home too. In most every instance it would be to someone that I've at least built an email/phone relationship with. My boys aren't small children so that wouldn't be an issue.
As for the dogs...again, might depend on the person - but I sleep with all my dogs and wouldn't want to sleep without them! Plus I doubt they would be happy if they weren't in my room
As for the post being true...sure, it's not hard to believe....
