When you send an email you have three options, TO:, CC:, BCC:, the first shows everyone as being the main recipenient of the email, the second shows a primary recipeint and then extras that have a "Carbon Copy" and the last sends a "Blind Carbon Copy" basically anyone whos address is in there will not show up to the people who was the primary and the "Carbon Copy"

That means they can put, say 30 recipients in the BCC and themselves as the primary recipeint and send one email to loads of people and everyone will think they are the only person to receive it, basically they can try to rip loads of people off with minimum effort....
