My momma dog started lactating about a week before her liter whelped. She has done this with every liter, too. When I bred Poms 2 of our females did this too, while one did not until after she whelped the first pup. Most likely I would say that it is normal and that you should expect pups are her due date, but be prepared just in case. Now would also be the best time to start taking her temp. Usually temp is the best indicator as to when she is to whelp! |
