Archie's not really subdued, but he's not hyperactive, either. He plays but only for an hour or so before he gets tired and chews on his chew stick or ball. He doesn't bark either which I always found a little weird. Aren't yorkies supposed to be yappers? He started barking a little bit but under limited circumstances: 1) when his ball goes under the couch and I'm not in the room, 2) when his "girlfriend," comes to our door and cries, and 3) when he sees another dog out the window that he knows. But he never barks more than once or twice. We try to play with him in time increments, but not too much.
