The reason I ask is because I have a swimming pool and I live on a lake.
I don't want her to drown.
My puppy lives inside with us.
I've heard that owls and hawks will eat your pet.
We have poisonous toads that will kill even big dogs.
So I know she shouldn't be outside without supervision.
I just need to know if drowning is another danger.
Yes they can swim. Maggie swims, but it takes her a little longer to get where she is going. I am always right there.

Yes, for sure hawks and owls are a problem. If your baby goes outside, make sure she is on a leash. A hawk or owl can swoop down and snatch her before you can turn around. As far as the toads, don't let her outside early in the morning or in the evening when the toads are more active. Yes, drowning is a danger, because they can't swim the distance of bigger dogs. You must be right there with these babies. They think they are big dogs, but in reality, they are just little toy babies.
