My booboo had his liver shunt surgery and he has been neutered as well in the same time. They kept him for a week tho as they were afraid he might have seisures after that. But the first day he came home he jumped everywhere and I was jumping after him to try to stop him. But his stitches healed up fine so I don't think there's any reason to worry altho is hard, I was a reck.
So all my good thought and prayers coming yous and your baby's way. May God keep him safe and make his recovery a speedy one.
