Jake plays ALL the time and LOVES toys, but he does the same cowering down thing that you explained sometimes. I think it's because these dogs are so little, they're just intimidated by everything.....think of how huge everything must look to them. I think just socializing them more and letting them play with other dogs makes things easier for them.
I know what you mean about how it looks like they've been mistreated, the way they cower down. But, Jake is definitely a very spoiled little guy so I think it's just his small size. I'm sure Maggie is the same. Maybe we look like giants to them lol.
From the videos I've seen of Maggie, it looks like she does really well outside. I'm sure she will get over her fears. Jake has gone from being scared and shaking outside to running and hopping around all over the place. I think the smaller breeds are just different so don't worry. |
