Every breed has it's problems - housebreaking happens to be a big problem with Yorkies. Sadie is a year old and is 90% trained to potty pads. She still has "accidents", and she never has access to carpeted areas unless I am with her. I either keep the doors closed to those rooms or have a screen up to prevent her from going in them. Although she has been the most difficult dog I have ever had to housebreak, she certainly is the least destructive - unless you count an occasional paper towel shredding!!! She's also one of the most affectionate and loveable dogs I've ever had.

Maybe a big dog will be housebroken in 2 months - but big dogs also love to eat furniture, shoes, walls, etc!!! And let's face it, their poops and puddles are huge.
