My babies slept with me from day 1 at night but that was just our choice...when they were in the crate it was when we went out for a couple hours..if they did cry we werent there to hear it. I think when we hear them crying our instinct is to remove them from the crate to hush them...but that can be the worse thing you can do as that shows them "hey I cry I get to get out" maybe try going out of the house for an hour with him crated...that way you dont have to listen to the crying and feel sorry for him. I hope this doesnt sound mean but it works for us. We have a new Shih Tzu puppy and she cries to go in the crate too but she knows she wont get out if she cries so the crying doesnt last long anymore...she is 10 weeks old right now. Of course they all sleep with us at night so thats a big bonus as we dont have to try and sleep and listen to the crying...
