This way, if they say four and everything stops after three (no fourth puppy after an hour), you know you have a problem and you need to take your dog in immediately. They even told me there was no danger in having a second x-ray taken.

You said she was in heat in April, so she'd be due sometime in June, just like Bo. I would strongly suggest an x-ray, especially if she's so big. Otherwise, how will you know what to look for?
Hello there, I took her to the Vet last time and he was truthful with me, he said he wasn't that good @ reading ultrasounds, and he might miss 1 with an X-Ray, said 3 or 4 and she had 4, they all turned out fine and so did she (Not saying that something won't go wrong this time. I just pray it don't), they are in my cell phone if I need help. I just read all I could about whelping on the internet, printed out the pages, had my whelping box and kit ready, started taking her temp that sat. when we came back from the vet and kept a close eye on her, matter of fact I thought they would come that night that she had them for her temp. was down, so I was laying down on my couch taking a nap when here she was trying to have her 1st baby on me while I was nappin'! I got her to her whelping box which was right beside the couch and out came Sir. Galahad, @ 2:47 pm. Weight: 4.8 oz. then Sir. Lancelot, @ 3:32 pm. Weight: 5.8 oz., (He wasn't breathing either when he was born, so I suctioned his nose and mouth out and started rubbing him and he was breathing) then here came Princess Isabella @ 3:51 pm. Weight: 4.4 oz. and then @ 4:44 pm here came Princess Arimathea Weight: 5 oz. So I think she will be okay. See between our last 2 girls it took her almost an hour to have her last one. Here is her photos, I cut her hair down on her legs cause when I went to trim each one she moved and I gapped every single one so I just trimmed them down. I left her hair long everywhere else, except for her belly and her ears and bottom. She is from my date of her and Teddy being together (He is the Father to her 1st litter too and weighs around 6 lbs.) On day 42. She I figure will be due anywhere from June, 22 to the 26th. I will be ready a week before. I just have to get her whelping box in and I already have everything else there for her and our babies. So now I'm just keeping her calm and cool until our day arrives. I figure if I can keep her calm enough to where she don't have them before June 18th then their lungs will be stong enough for them! Hugs, Lee, Teddy, Tiffanie & Sir. Galahad
