Thanks! When I was little I actually liked Winnie the Pooh better than Paddington Bear, but the librarian at our local library had a Paddington on her desk that I could hold if I was good. Now that I'm older I really love "classic" British children's literature, and find Paddington more appealing (maybe because he is less commercialized than AA Milne's characters?) I read several descriptions of yorkies that say they have teddy bear faces, and when we got the puppy he responded to the name Paddington right away and ignored all the other names we had considered. So in a way he chose it, and it really fits him
