The dog litter looks like rolled up newspaper cigarette butts. No additonal scent. It is up to the owner to train them to use it. Not as easy as training a cat to use a box---comes natural with cats. But a dog, using a litter box is not natural. They may kick leaves or grass over their poo, but that's about it. I don't even think they are covering it then, just kicking their feet like they are wiping them off. Most of the time it's just left flat on a surface. If that is what an owner wants, then it will require diligent training.
