Saying hello a faux pas? I was at the pet store just browsing (again!) and a woman was there with a gorgeous baby yorkie in one of those front carriers. She was so adorable with a bow in her hair and sitting so well in her carrier. The lady didn't seem to be busy so I smiled at her and said "hello. what a beautiful princess!" I wasn't being overenthusiastic or cheesey with my tone, I said it kind of in the same way I would tell someone I like their earrings. I was giving her and her baby a compliment. She acted offended, and sniffed and huffed off.... was I rude and annoying, or was this lady just a snot? I love it when people tell me what a great baby I have.
and personally I think if you are going to dress your dog to be adorable with a pretty bow etc, you want to show her off and be complimented for your efforts. Maybe that is just me. I am still knew to this yorkie thing; maybe I don't understand the social rules? Would you be offended?
