Adie prefers to be held by me but will accept being held by my dh. However, she doesn't take her eyes off me when he does. If she catches my eye then over she comes! She sleeps on top of me and climbs right back on if I go to the bathroom. Since she has learned how to play fetch she will only bring the ball to me. If dh throws it she still brings it to me. She will come when dh calls her but she walks. With me she runs. She is waiting on the back of the couch every night when I get home. The minute she sees my car she races to the back door and won't let me past her. I must pick her up and shower kisses on her and receive a million back. When I try to leave in the morning she does everything she can think of to get me to stay. She does the "hold me" routine, she bites my hands (gently), she growls, she barks, she pulls at my coat trying to keep me from putting it on. The minute I'm out of the door she is on the back of the couch where she stays until my car disappears. For the rest of the day she is calm and responds well to my husband but about a half hour before I get home she gets irritable and then goes to the back of the couch to wait. I think she loves me. |
