Question Question for those of you who show...

I know you have to keep the coat in top condition, so do you keep their hair in wraps until show day?

I don't show my yorkies but I still love them to have a topknot with a full coat.
But I have been having a lot of problems with the hair breaking where their topknot is. I always put their hair up in a topknot but the band is breaking the hair really bad. I just had to cut Scampers topknot because it got so damaged from the bands breaking his hair.
So would I have to wrap the hair for the topknot in order to prevent breaking or is there another way you guys do it or a product that helps?
I hate seeing their hair in their face and although bangs are cute I love the topknot.
So should I start wrapping their hair so the topknot hair won't break?

I seen a picture tutorial on wrapping a topknot for a maltese. Their hair is white so you don't notice the paper that is in it. But with a yorkie you would right? Or do you do it different or is there a way of hiding the paper?

Anyone help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!!
