the thread with the photo of the large woman whose belly button was exposed? I just wanted to kindly respond to the person who thought "fat" was a derogatory term. Most large people use the word "fat" just like thin people use the word "thin," or "tall," or "brunette," or whatever adjective that applies. Society despises fat people and they are the only group I can think of that it is "okay" to make fun of and discriminate against. Those of us with a weight problem get hurt everyday by a "well meaning" friend or relative, or sometimes a stranger who takes it upon himself/herself to point out to us that we are fat. Though I am not as large as that poor woman in the picture, I certainly feel her pain.

I'm not trying to "start" something, I just wanted to clear that up!
