You always want to breed a bigger female to a smaller male. In your case if you use your 7 lb. male to breed it has to be with a bigger female or same size atleast, which means you will be pushing the 7 lb. standard to the limit if you use your male for breeding purposes. I wouldn't suggest getting a 5 lb. female to breed with him, breeding this way can cause alot of problems with whelping of puppies for your female. It can also cause your smaller female to die when giving birth.
