How is he today then? How old is he? What was in the vomit - just bile or his food or anything weird looking? How is his appetite now?
For the immediate term, I'd give some karo/corn syrup on your finger to help give him some immed. sugar. Also add karo to his water so that he'll drink bc he's probably very dehydrated. If he isn't vomiting, try to get him to eat asap - you'll probably need something very appetizing to him, whatever that is.
If he is a puppy and if he's still having issues, I'd take him to the vet asap. If he is an adult, feed him, get him to drink, keep a close eye and/or bring him to the vet.
