Your post brought tears to my eyes. I have been through the same exact experience. You are so right to stand by his side and fight with him as long as he has the will to live. On the day that he gives up, he'll look up at you, and tell you that its time for you to let him go.
I pray that that day will not be soon, that he can live an even longer happy life. He has already shown his strength and drive to live by miraculously walking after being paralyzed. But I also pray that if he is ready to go, you'll be comforted by the fact that he led a long and happy life with you...
