People don't realize how hurtful comments like that are. You can never compare any child to another. Not in size, or intellectually, they learn at their own pace and tend to catch up where they need to, when they need to. (My first child didn't get motivated to try to walk until he was 15 months old so don't feel bad

I actually have a problem with people telling me how little my kids are
My five year old is 35 pounds, he's just petite and he eats like a horse. My 8 year old is only 50 pounds.
