All the yorkies I've ever had rubbed their faces after a 'wet' messy meal. My two now only do it on Sundays after they eat eggs. They don't do it other days when they eat their Canidae dry.
I try to have a wet cloth handy before they rub their 'egg faces' along the edge of the couch!
