My vet takes them out of the room for blood draw, nail clip, etc. I asked them why and she said because if the dog can see you, he will struggle to get to you. Also, while doing his exam she asked if I would step back from the table so he wouldn't try to get to me. She said if he has something internal going on he may not respond to pain the same if he was looking at me while she's palpating him. Now, after reading these posts I'm thinkin maybe I shouldn't let them take him out.
