My mom gave two of hers up for adoption in the late '60's. Since it wasn't appropriate back then to be an unwed mother. Her daughter (my 1/2 sister) found us and for awhile was in contact but she doesn't want to tell her adoptive mother that she found us, so she's broken contact. The other one was a boy, my only full blood brother. And we can't find him. Adoption records are sealed and it's possible he may not know he's adopted. I'm going to keep looking but I think the chances are pretty slim for finding him.
Stories like this always make me think of him and hope we do find him, and gives me some hope still. |
That's sad. If you know the adoption agency they have people that will work with you to help locate if they have a current address and if so they can contact the person and see if they are open to hearing from the birth relative.
Just keep trying. I know when I got pregnant in 1970 it was very different then today.
