Question Is insurance worth it?

I was just looking into getting VPI (Veterinary Pet Insurance - #1 company & all that) and started reading all the fine print. All of the things they originally implied were covered aren't. For example, you only get to pick 1 procedure out of 3 in a category. This is really off putting because they make it seem like you get everything but reading the fine print tells a whole other story.

Also, it implies everything is paid for but later I read they only offer specific, small amounts to each procedure. Not to mention a $50 deductible. Why should I spend $350 per year, a $50 deductible each time, then I have to pay all the rest that their tiny amounts don't cover (if they even cover it)?

It just all seems more expensive then just paying for the visit myself... is it worth it to you? Which company do you use?
