Yep, YorkieRose is right. The piebald gene that gives the Dalmatian, Doxie and even Piebald horses their spotting patterns produce the spota known as "ticking" on the skin. When they appear they are a normal part of the animals skin coloring, not moles or similar thingies.
Some feale Yorkies will get very fine almost black areas on their tummies especially after their first heat. I actually asked my vet to scrub with a brush the tummy while my girl was under anes. for dental. I felt like a bad mommy when I took her in looking like that. I have a very sweet note from the vet in her post op instructions saying I was not a bad mommy because they couldn't scrub them off either. She explained they seem to hormone related and not a problem...Whew!!!!!! |
