Can't lie...they do smell some. A ferret should never be purchased without 2 lil tatoos in their ear 1 means descented, the other spayed/neutered. The do use a litter box, and walk backwards when they need to go potty. The are quite scrappy but like any cat/dog they can be trained. Mine ran to the door when someone knocked came in, they beg for food, they have thier own lil beds they sleep in and are very protective about just like a tiny dog bed or cat bed, they come when you shake their treats or squeak their toys, they hide everything and are remarkable joksters. Great pets in my opinion. Faithful, loving, lick your face in the morning or when you get home like pups and usually love other animals (except birds lol)
