You know, now that you say that, I think I DO remember hearing that about the ferret. I thought about getting one many years ago and I think that's one of the things I learned. That and the fact that they can stink! I think that with all critters like that (including hamsters) it takes a lot of diligence in keeping them and their bedding, etc. very clean so they don't stink. I still think they're cool though!
