It sounds like you have lots of company.
My Rudy just did this,this morning. I was in the downstairs bathroom getting ready for work and he was playing with his brother, Lucky, no bark to let me know he needs out. I go back into the living room and find a "deposit" from Rudy. He! He! I can tell the difference in their poops plus Rudy had a guilty look on his face.
I think it's because even though I let them out for a while, Rudy is too busy being "spy" dog, etc, so he "forgets" he needs to go.
