I also crate my puppy at night. Actually, she sleeps right beside my 17 yr. old daughters bed...and has done well knowing someone is right there for her.
We go to bed late around here..and get up early. It works great. Its large enough for her to move around...I have a nylabone in there and soft toy and blanket on one of those short tiny fleece oval beds her breeder gave us.
During the day we watch her like a hawk...lol We have some baby gates when I can't be right there as she goes discovering~ lol
and even with that..I have a super play yard XL that the breeder used to keep the pups out of trouble..I use that too when I need to. She is used to that since she had one at the breeders when she didn't want them underfoot..in they would go..and out they could come. Much safer when you can't watch...
