Yes, it sometimes takes a little while and there are sometimes breakouts. But this happens whenever you switch from one product to another. Your skin has to adjust to it. I always tell my customers, too that they need to try using different amounts of the product to see what is right for them. When I first started using the re9, I had to adjust how much of the day creme to use, or it was too much for my oily skin. But once I figured it out, it was ok.
