The first time Obie heard a dog bark in a movie whe he was a little puppy, he got all excited and started barking, too. It was "Far from the Madding Crowd," which I was showing to my community college class. I'd brought him along in his Sherpa bag because my "child care" arrangement had fallen through and he would usually hide quietly in there, but the sound of the movie dog busted us.
Since then, though, he has not noticed dogs barking in movies--I guess he knows they're not real dogs, now.
