I agree with Shelly. My advice for you is to watch him for a few hours while you are home to see if the stitches irritate him and if he licks them. If he doesn't seem to notice them, then I would suggest no e-collar. I hate e-collars. When my old Basset Hound got neutered, he had to wear one, and it always got in the way. He always had his nose to the ground so the edge of the e-collar would get stuck in grooves on our tile floor or on the rocks in the backyard. He did little somersaults. it was so pathetic!

Anyways, if Finnigen is bothered by the stitches, put the e-collar on and set up a little area for him in the kitchen or bathroom (somewhere without carpet JIC of an accident) where he will be safe and comfortable. Good luck!
