Sukoshi never barks or yelps...but whining...oh...whining she DOES! It sounds like you're doing the right thing though. Sukoshi whines when she wants attention, up on the bed, etc.; however, we did like you and we don't acknowledge or reward the whining, and she HAS learned that I won't get her out of her bedroom after work until she's quiet. So now, I come in the door and completely ignore her (her "bedroom" is right inside the front door, and she's always sitting at the baby gate when I get home), and then after a couple minutes, I walk over and get her out. If she whines...I make her wait longer. It took awhile, but she HAS learned not to whine when it comes to that. Now, how to get them to stop whining at other times (when wanting up on the bed, etc.)...that I can't help you with! Good luck! |
