Ozzie came from an "alleged" breeder. She was licensed and had the nice house when you drive up -- but a bunch of little sheds with cages out back that could have stood some major repairs. She would NOT let us go in the puppy room, although she did show us his parents.
I did not want a dog. (We had put our 11.5-year-old Yorkie down the week before.) But then she hands me this puppy which I reluctantly took. And he's so cute. And he went from being totally hyper to totally content to just lay his head on my shoulder. And every time I would ask him if he was lovey, he would kiss me -- and it stole my heart.
I knew there was no way I was leaving there without him. I will always think that we ransomed him rather than bought him.
I went to different groups and agencies and tried all kinds of things to get this gal investigated. Everyone just looked the other way because she had a license.
