 Bell
When I took my baby in to get a little bit of house training they told me about the bell theory. What the trainer told me to do was get a long piece of ribbon one that will hang from your door knob and go all the way to the floor. Buy a cheap .50 cent bell-like one that you would put on a homecoming mum or a jingle bell for Christmas. Tie the bell onto the bottom of the ribbon at the floor. Everytime you go outside the dog hears the bell. When you want to take her out go ring the bell. After a while when she hears that bell she will come running. I thought this was the silliest thing ever until one day I was home alone and I heard the bell (very faint) I thought someone was coming into my house until I went into the living room and saw Molli pawing at the bell. Lo and behold she did have to go. Takes a few weeks..but works great. Yorkies are very smart they will get the hang of it. |
