just to add, this does not mean you have an unhealthy dog or that it is not a purebred.
for an example, my muffie did not come with papers. her purity was questionable to me. i wanted to have her registered so i was looking up all the registries. of course akc, ckc would not register her but aca would. i never did register her, she is just my baby who i love with all my heart.
