We wanted a dog that was between 6 months to a year and a half old, preferably over 9 months. Well, in February, we found a maltese and completely fell in love with her. She was 7 months old at the time. I can tell you that we have no regrets. Our yorkie had such a sick and hard puppyhood that we were just not wanting to go through that again. Being that age, she was already spayed, shots taken care of, microchipped, bloodwork done and checked out. She fit in perfectly and bonded with us and our yorkie very quickly. I love the fact that I got her at this age. She was exactly what we wanted from size to look to personality. I say go for it
A one year old dog is still so young
