I would start reading everything you can and maybe contact local Vets in your area to see if there are any breeders who would be willing to help you.
Maybe one will let you set in on a Whelping.
Here is a good site that has quite a bit of info too ..
Like things to have on hand for the whelping and signs to watch for if the female is in trouble...
