Some dogs, no matter how old, will still run away or wonder around freely if they get the chance while some doesn't. Buttercup used to do that but that was before he started his training sessions with a private trainer. I was told that if they know the stay command then it helps a lot.
You can use an area in your house to train him/her. FOr instance, close your restroom door and tell him to sit and stay and open the door. That's what the trainer did with Buttercup and with consistency, it worked. |
