Wow , I am so glad when I read your post that he was eating a lot! Poor baby was feeling sick. The smell is most likely his ears. I doubt it could be his incision. My little one had filthy ears and had an infection in one ear. The smell was not all over the house but if you carried him it smelled like rotten milk and cheese. I kept up with the earflush drops and cleaned his ears twice a day. I was shocked how much nasty crud came out of his ears! It looked like globs black butter!
I had Cookie neutered and he did not smell like that. I did wait about 2 weeks before I gave him a bath.
